Down and out

Well folks that's it. The Moes now have a extended break from
hockey till Summer Season starts up in 3 weeks.

And to be honest, I felt like Chael Sonnen after this game had
ended. We had laid a beating down on Scarborough Ice Breakers
the whole game. Even in OT, we had the best chances bar none.

We knew going into the game it was a Do or Die situation. Lose
and we go home, win and into OT we go. So almost everyone was
out for this game, minus our star defenseman, Moe Terboat, due
to the birth of his second child the day before. So I guess he can
use that excuse. BUT only this one time.

We came out guns ablazing. We were pressuring them as soon as we could, keeping them to the outside with no clear breakaways. We shut them down in the neutral zone when we could, controlling the puck in their zone. Like I said before, we were beating them the whole game and you can tell it threw them off their game. They couldn't do what they wanted to. Even with some lousy calls and missed calls from the refs. We were stall able to dictate the game to our will basically.

beating this guy for four and a half rounds, in total control, but one little mistake and it's all over before you know it. And that's how this Winter season ended for the Moes.

Well folks, time to take a little 'me time' for the next 3 weeks till Summer season starts.
So until then, be good and keep your stick on the ice.

Score:
Moes 5 - Scarborough Ice Breakers 3
We beat them handily 5-3 in the game. So we forced OT. Now the challenge was about to begin as we knew this team was young and fast. And you know in a 3 on 3 OT format, this might play into their hands.  Well we were up to the task as we put out our best players to match them as best we could. We had some great scoring chances, just missing by inches on more then a few occasions. We were able to keep their shots from outside with no real harm.

But then it happened. One of those things you wish you could have done differently a million times in your head after it's done. A little too long on holding the puck when you could have passed it sooner. That soft, lazy pass that was picked off which you should have passed harder and faster. Before you know it, it was a one-on-one with Moe Bailey and one of the top skaters and point leaders on their team. Moe Bailey took his 3 hardest strides and turned to face his opponent, who was already on top of him before he knew it, did a quick dipsy-doodle, and wristed the puck over Moe Puck to score the game winning goal.

The wind was knocked out of every Moe on the team right at that instant. You were
